Transparent pricing and official payments for cement
Quick answer

To pay safely for cement and building materials, verify the seller's legal name, GSTIN and contact details independently; pay only to a bank account or payment link in the company's own name that matches the invoice; never pay to personal UPI IDs; confirm any change in bank details by calling a number you already know; be suspicious of prices far below market and pressure to pay immediately; and keep quotations, invoices and payment receipts.

Common scams

Fake dealer websites and ads. Professional-looking sites or social media ads offering cement "direct from the company" at low prices. After payment, nothing arrives.

Too-good-to-be-true prices. Rates well below every local dealer, often with a "limited stock" deadline.

Advance for "loading charges". You are asked to pay loading, transport or GST "separately" to a personal account before dispatch.

Changed bank details. A message, apparently from a genuine supplier, says the bank account has changed. The new account belongs to a fraudster.

Impersonated staff. Someone claims to be from the supplier's sales team and asks for payment to their own UPI ID.

Warning signs

  • Account name differs from the company on the invoice
  • Personal UPI ID or wallet number for payment
  • No GSTIN, or a GSTIN that does not match the company name
  • Only mobile numbers and free email addresses
  • Urgency: "price valid only for the next hour"
  • Unwilling to share a written quotation or proforma

10 rules for safe payments

  1. Verify the business — legal name, GSTIN, address — using official sources.
  2. Get a written quotation with seller details. See how to read a quotation.
  3. Pay only to the company's own bank account or official payment link, in the same name as the invoice.
  4. Never pay to personal accounts or personal UPI IDs, whatever the reason.
  5. Confirm bank detail changes by phone on a number you already have — not one in the message.
  6. Start with a small first order with a new supplier.
  7. Pay advances only against a proforma invoice.
  8. Keep records — quotations, invoices, payment receipts and delivery proofs.
  9. Check the delivery before releasing the balance. See receiving cement on site.
  10. Report fraud quickly — contact your bank immediately and report on the national cybercrime helpline (1930) or cybercrime.gov.in.

How we take payments

We collect payments only through payment links generated by our system or by transfer to the company bank account shown on your document. Our staff will never ask you to pay a personal account or UPI ID. If anyone does, do not pay — contact us to verify.

Key takeaways

  • Verify the seller and get everything in writing.
  • Pay only official company accounts or links that match the invoice.
  • Treat urgency, very low prices and personal accounts as red flags.
